FOR ST ANNE’S
The Hon. Theodore Brent Symonette was sworn in by His
Excellency the Hon. Arthur D. Hanna Governor-General as Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs on May 4, 2007, following the May 02 general
election. However, in the July 7, 2008 Cabinet shuffle responsibility of
Immigration added the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign
Affairs
He retained the St Anne’s constituency seat in the House
of Assembly.
He was born on December 2, 1954 and is the youngest son
of the late Sir Roland Symonette. He is a real estate developer and
barrister-at-law.
He attended St. Andrew’s School in Nassau, Leys School
in Cambridge, England and Brunel University in Middlesex, England. He holds a
Bachelor of Science Honours degree in law and politics.
He is married to the former Rubin Mactaggard of Nassau
and is the father of a son, Andrew and two daughters, Islay and Julia.
